35 weeks and we graduated!
You'll be happy to know that Dad and I graduated from baby class tonight! The topic was 'child care' so we learned about giving you baths, changing your diapers, and figuring out our way through parenthood. You kicked throughout the whole class - almost like you were participating in the discussion...or maybe you were taunting us!? I keep being told you're starting to 'drop' so I included some new pictures below. Let's try to hold out for a few more weeks!!

Your first baby shower
I wanted to let you know that Grandma Whitehouse, Auntie Cortney, and "the girls" (Carrie, Gina, Shelly, and Kristina) threw us a wonderful baby shower last weekend at Grandma's house. So many people came to celebrate with us - it made me realize that we are both very blessed to be surrounded by such loving, caring friends & family...you are a lucky boy! Your Grandma Hormann couldn't make the shower but she sent a very special gift for you - the suit that your Dad wore to his aunt's wedding when he was a little boy. I can't wait to show it to you!!

The first look at your nursery...
The paint is officially dry and you even have furniture...woo-hoo! We still have some work to do, but we're feeling great knowing you have a nice place to lay your head when you choose to make an appearance...

34-week update!
Baby H (no, you still don't have a name!) -
I'm excited to say that we only have 6 weeks to go...I'm AMAZED how soon you will be here! The last 12 days have been quite eventful. We had our second baby class last Monday night. We got to tour the hospital and see where you will be born - talk about a reality check! We spent last weekend painting your nursery and helping with your cousin Rae's 4th birthday party. The nursery is looking great but it's definitely been a labor of love. Who knew that painting stripes on one wall could be so difficult! We also got your daycare all figured out and chose your pediatrician this week, which was a great relief for me. This weekend we had your baby shower at grandma's house & starting putting the finishing touches on your nursery - more details to come! Here's an updated picture of my growing belly...you're getting SO BIG!

Our first baby class
Dad and I just got home from our first baby class at the clinic. We learned all about our crazy experience to come...labor! We watched some videos, which was eye-opening but exciting. I got teary-eyed just imagining the feeling that we'll have when we finally get to meet you. I think Dad had a big dose of reality and is surprised what a huge role he will play in all of this. He did so good at the class - rubbing my back and comforting me during the breathing practice - I was proud to have such a great husband. You'll have a great role model to look up to throughout life. I can't wait for next Monday night for class #2...never thought I could look forward to a Monday!!

Your nursery & 32-week picture
Baby H,
I'm happy to report that we finally & officially started your nursery tonight. I feel like such a slacker since you're only 8 weeks out, but I'm SO relieved to have a plan that Dad & I both really like. Your Dad is quite the 'creative type' (I hope you get those genes!) so we literally had to design the room on his computer before we could go buy paint, etc. He's also quite the go-getter so he's already knee-deep in work, getting everything just right for you! As you can see, mom's belly is growing by leaps & bounds but the doctor keeps assuring me you're right on track...Happy New Year to Mom!
I just got home from my 32-week check-up with great news...your head is finally down - hooray! You've been head-up for the longest time and I was starting to get worried that you would be born breach. Everyone kept telling me not to worry because we still have several weeks to go, but I was starting to wonder how you would have room to turn...now I just have to hope that you stay put! Great work kiddo and thanks for giving me one less thing to worry about. :)
