Merry Christmas & 30 weeks!

Although next year will be your first official Christmas, we started celebrating for you this year.  Your Grandma & Grandpa Hormann were in town and stayed with us at our house.  We had such a nice time and received TONS of new things for you...including the stroller that Dad loves and an adorable Vikings bunting that you'll wear next season.  Dad also received a few books about his new role as a father...he's getting very excited to meet you, he even promised that he'll take you on walks with Sadie on Saturday mornings and let me sleep...we'll see how long that lasts!!  We can't believe how soon  you'll be here - this picture is from 30 weeks but I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow...only 9 weeks to go!

28 weeks down...12 to go!

Baby H,
With just under 12 weeks to go, you're getting very active and growing fast!  We had a check-up a few days ago and mom was a human pin-cushion...glucose screenings, blood tests, and an immunization because of my blood type.  The doctor checked to make sure you're not getting too anxious to come into the world, and made sure you were growing at the right pace.  I was really nervous to get my glucose results but was glad to get the 'all clear' to keep eating Milky Way bars & cookies! :)

Your sister, the Great Dane

As I mentioned a couple of posts ago, your 'sister' Sadie is fascinated by you in my belly, and loves to get as close as possible to me.  These pictures really say it all...

Dinner with your aunties

Baby H,
Mom went out for Asian Food with 'the girls' when Auntie Nina was home for Thanksgiving.  When I opened my fortune cookie at the end of dinner, I was shocked to receive a message from above...reminding me of your pending arrival and my new role in the world!  In case you can't read it, the fortune simply says "Mother" and it's now posted on my bathroom mirror.  We cannot WAIT for you to arrive!

26 weeks and counting...

We've officially entered the 3rd trimester and are anxiously awaiting your arrival.  Mom's stomach is growing like crazy...no one can believe we have three full months to go!  Your sister, Sadie, is also very excited for you to join the family.  She won't leave my side and has even learned to 'kiss her brother' by licking my stomach!  We're working on finding you a good daycare, getting the nursery done, and registering for all of your gear.  Keep growing big & strong...we can't wait to meet you. :)

24 week check-up

Baby H,
We had another appointment yesterday and Dad got to hear your heartbeat for the first time.  It was strong and fast...we hope that's a good sign!  The doctor kept having to pause because you were interrupting her measurements by kicking me as hard as you could...thump, thump, thump...thanks kiddo!

Cao Boi?!

I thought you should know that your crazy Dad is hard-pressed on naming you "Cao Boi" (pronounced "Cowboy"). He tells everyone that will be your name and insists on spelling it out for them ("C-A-O space B-O-I"). He got this idea from a contestant on a reality show called "Survivor." You probably won't even know what that is when you're old enough to read this blog...

Mom's belly

Baby H,
You must be growing up big & strong because my belly is growing faster than ever. I've had several people ask me how soon I'm delivering and you still have over 4 months to stay in there! Just for the record, I was in pretty good shape before we were blessed with you... ;)

Your first appearance!

Baby Hormann,

We saw the very first signs of your life on Friday, October 10th and boy were you active! In one picture, you were kicking and punching me at the same time and I could feel every movement. Talk about exciting. Dad was very thrilled to find out you are a little boy...I can't wait to watch you follow in his footsteps and grow-up to be a wonderful man.
